  Went through Lowe's to contract a roofing company.
  Was told that the roofers would contact us the following week, but after chasing them down, finally got a communication 3 weeks later.
  I was told by the Lowe's sales person that we would be getting a plastic vent on top, but we got ridge shingles.
  Was told the roof would withstand winds up to 145 mph.
  Later, in November, I was on the roof to install Christmas lights and noticed a 6' section of ridge shingles missing. The roof was less than 7 month old.
  
  The guy who came to repair it said they were "blown off", even though we had not experienced higher winds than normal.
  
  September 11 we experienced a cat. 1 hurricane, which blew off another 6' ridge section. Our house was the only house in the neighborhood to have ridge damage, from what I could see.
  
  Even though we were within 1 year of the repair work that had been done, Ryman roofing would not fix "Act of God" damage.
  
  They wanted a minimum of $650 just for the labor. This is a job that a pro could have done within an hour's workl
  
  They said they were swamped, due to hurricane damage, and that's why they were charging so much. What's the definition of "price gouging"?
  
  So I spent 1/2 the day yesterday, trying to find matching ridge shingles.
  Today I repaired my ridge and put roof adhesive under all of the ridge tabs that were not glued.
  At 64 years old, it was no fun spending time fixing a relatively new roof.
